Dragonfly & Friends Two
Sat., October 4
What a blast! This show included such an interesting mix of music and friendship. We're still smiling! The 40th reunion of "The Followers" on stage was one of the highlights. Here are some photos [courtesy of Dorothy Martin]

Dragonfly & Friends
Friday, August 8

What a thrill it was for Thom & Jane to step out onto the stage for their first performance at Home on the Grange.

Aarika Ritchie joined them for a couple of songs, adding some fine fiddle breaks.

Elise Sproul & Harold Olmstead lll entertained the crowd with some wonderful harmony vocals doing a couple of original songs as well as covering a few country hits.
The Blackbirds & The Crows [Thom, Jane, Cathy and Bill Shamel] took the stage for a set of instrumentals that set some toes a'tapping. Bill led the audience in singing The Tennessee Waltz which sounded SO sweet!
The finale included all the musicians playing some spirited dance music and singing a couple of crowd pleasers: Cattle Call & Goodnight Irene.
WHAT A SHOW! WHAT A NIGHT!

Brian Dickson
August 2nd

The audience really enjoyed this show. Brian had everyone laughing and singing one minute and hanging on every golden note of a classic Scottish ballad the next.

He has an amazing collection of songs, an incredible vocal range and a nice style on the guitar. Brian's sense of humor made this show and unforgettable evening for all who attended.

Evergreen in concert
Saturday, May 17
From the moment they came on stage, Evergreen was warm and enthusiastic. Their instruments and voices blended perfectly and filled the room for an evening of memorable entertainment.

An audience of all ages listened intently!

Band members take turns with the lead vocals, each bringing a unique sound and personality.

Evergreen uses one large microphone and has a very well balanced sound. Their comraderie and ease together add to the comfortable feeling they create with the audience. Each band member has stories and introductions to share, making every song more personal. By the end of the evening, Steve, Chris, Joe and Nell feel like old friends.

This talented quartet plays a variety of instruments, so each song has its own unique arrangement.

Evergreen also plays some original material. Here the band has fun with a banjo medley inspired by Chris Prickett's grand-daughter, Delaney.

After intermission the band raffled off one of their cd's. Mitch Slevinsky was the lucky winner!
Thanks to Evergreen
and to all who attended this event!

The Adrians in Concert
Saturday, April 19th
There was standing room only as The Adrians took the stage at Home on the Grange in Lee last Saturday night. The county/bluegrass band entertained the packed house with tunes that ranged from driving instrumentals to old country standards, with most featuring the tight, powerful harmonies of the Adrians [Adrian Drost Sr. and his son Adrian].

Adrian Sr. remarked to the crowd how blessed he felt to be playing so close to home with an audience made up of his entire family, friends and neighbors. He introduced “young” Adrian as his son, his musical partner and his best friend. That relationship is very evident as they blend their voices in close harmony. Young Adrian kept the audience laughing with playful antics and stories throughout the evening.

Band members Kevin Sproul, Nancy Merrill and Bill Thibodeau have played together in various bands for the past 18 years. Since joining up with the Adrians a couple of years ago, they have crafted a sound that is tasteful and energetic. Nancy , on upright bass, wears a smile that lights up the stage as she holds the band together with her driving bass lines. Bill, playing mostly banjo in this band, adds harmony vocals, as well as remarkable riffs that embellish their arrangements. Kevin Sproul, playing impressive mandolin with this band, took center stage for his rendition of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire”, which the audience loved.

This concert was the perfect way to kick off the season for Home on the Grange. The Adrians have agreed to come back, so if you were unable to get tickets for this show, stay tuned, you will have another chance to see them.

Brent Averill joined them
on stage to add a third harmony!
Home on the Grange celebrated its second birthday on Saturday, April 12. We enjoyed a delicious chocolate cake made and decorated by Tammie Hersom, then went upstairs for music and dancing. The ballroom floor came alive with the rhythm of dancing feet [and a few who tapped their toes from the sidelines]. Live music included Thom Knowles on guitar and mandolin, Ann Forsing on piano, Cathy Shamel and Jane Scanlon on hammered dulcimers and Bill Shamel on guitar and vocals. Bill also did a fine job teaching and calling the dances Thanks to all who attended for making this a very memorable occasion. Hope you'll come back again real soon. |

a good time was had by all!
