Harmony Hill Band

We could tell this would be a fantastic show before the band even took the stage!

From the moment they started singing and playing, Harmony Hill held the audience in awe and appreciation.  Their enthusiasm is contagious, their friendship and support of one another is commendable, and their sound is absolutely amazing!!

We can't wait to have Harmony Hill back again!

August

Frank McLaughlin

Frank who grew up in Lincoln, not far from here, comes from a large Irish Catholic family.  Our grange all was half filled with his relatives!  Among them was Frank's 90 year old dad, Jim, who sat in the front row and hung on every word --- and Frank's quite a talker!

The rest of the audience was comprised of classmates from long ago and a few brave souls who didn't know Frank at all!

No one was disappointed.  Frank is as funny as ever.  His Irish style is fitting, believable and well done.  He picks good songs and he sings them well.  He has a way with jokes and sprinkles them throughout his show.  He's proud of his heritage and we're proud of him!  Frank has so much fun he doesn't want to stop, so...

He'll be back.... he has lot's more to share!

Ken & Jane Brooks

with Dana Flood

What a show!  Our venue was the perfect spot to showcase the talents of these three performers.  Their genuine interaction with the audience gave listeners that "living room feeling" as they sang a wide variety of songs.  Ken did some of the favorites he is so well known for, which were nicely embellished by Dana on dobro.  Jane played bass and sang some sweet melodies and harmonies.  This concert got rave reviews by all who attended!

July

David Mallett

with Susan Ramsey

& Michael Burd

INCREDIBLE!

The audience, a full house of all ages, welcomed David, Susan and Mike warmly and was rewarded with a very memorable evening's performance.

David Mallett is a master at combining lyrics with melody lines to create vivid images of other times, places, people and feelings.  He is a story teller whether singing his own songs or reciting excerpts from Henry David Thoreau while accompanying the words with tasteful instrumentals on the guitar.

Susan Ramsey weaves interesting threads of harmony throughout Mallett's melody lines and really holds her own on solos whether playing violin or viola.  Her fiddling on the "Ballad of St. Ann's Reel" had the audience cheering and applauding!

Michael Burd holds everything together and carries it smoothly along.  His tasteful style adds depth and the obvious joy while playing makes him fun to watch on stage.  We particularly liked the warm, deep sound of the bowed bass behind Mallett's recitation of Thoreau.

Thanks to Tom Gordon for getting the sound just right and giving our audience a "living room feeling" in a concert setting.

BRIAN DICKSON

An evening in Scotland

Brian came on stage in formal Scottish dress, a warm smile, his guitar and his harmonica. Slides of Scotland provided the perfect backdrop for his stories, ballads and songs and jokes. We were swept away for a very memorable evening!

Thanks Brian! It was great!

EVERGREEN

What a show!

Evergreen just gets better and better! These four friends have crafted a sound that perfectly balances their vocals and instrumentation. They support each other very well as they showcase the individual styles and talents of each. Thanks to Evergreen for playing for us and to all who came to the concert!
