The Artisans' Store
homegrange.com

When this building was truly a grange hall in its hey-day, the farmers had

a cooperative store in the big room downstairs.  In keeping with this tradition, we have a small store that operates as an artisans' cooperative.  We opened in the spring of 2009 with about 20 artistans.  By the end of the summer we had about 30 artists displaying unique hand-crafted items in a variety of mediums.   Artisans pay a small monthly rental fee and get 100% of their asking price.  Our goal is to support local astisans and provide a place for them to show their work.  Tim Messier, locally known for his turned wood burl bowls and unique turned antler peices, has been very generous with his time and knowledge, helping to get this co-op started and making sure it continues.  We are grateful to him and to all of the others who offer ideas, support and enthusiasm along the way.

This year we plan to expand our space as well as our number of participants.  We will also host two Art Shows - September 4 and December 4.  The old grange hall will be full on both floors - showcasing local art and fine craft.  There will be music, food and dancing too!
